These terms cover your use of this website and the general basis on which Stoic Consulting LLC, trading as Stoic Business Consulting Firm, provides services. Using this site means you accept them.

This website is information, not advice

Everything published here — service descriptions, the interactive tools, the assessments, the written notes — is general information. It is not management, legal, financial, tax, or accounting advice for your specific situation, and no client relationship is created by reading it, by using the on-site assessments, or by sending the contact form. Advice begins when we have agreed an engagement in writing.

Engagements are governed by their own agreement

Work is defined in a separate written agreement or statement of work that sets out the scope, the deliverables, the timeline, and the fees. Where that agreement and this page disagree, that agreement wins. Nothing on this website is an offer, a quote, or a commitment to take on work, and we may decline any engagement.

What we do not promise

Consulting changes what an organisation does; it cannot control what the market, your staff, your customers, or your competitors do next. We do not guarantee any particular business result, revenue figure, growth rate, or outcome. Anyone who does is selling something else. What we commit to is competent, diligent work performed to professional standards, and evidence you can check.

Your part in it

Our work depends on what you give us. You agree that the information, access, and decisions you provide will be accurate and given in reasonable time, and that you will keep the final say over your own business. Where a delay is caused by information we asked for and did not receive, timelines move accordingly.

Fees

Fees, deposits, and payment terms are set in the engagement agreement. Consultations are free. Invoices are due on the terms stated on them. Late payment may pause work. Cancellations and refunds are dealt with on our refunds page.

Who owns what

Deliverables we create specifically for you become yours once you have paid for them in full. The methods, frameworks, templates, and tools we bring to the work remain ours, and we keep the right to reuse the general skill and experience gained. You keep everything you already owned.

This website, its text, its design, and its code belong to Stoic Consulting LLC. You may read, print, and share it. You may not copy it to republish it as your own.

Confidentiality

What you tell us about your business stays between us, and we expect the same about our methods and pricing. This runs both ways and survives the end of an engagement. We will not name you as a client or describe your work publicly without your written agreement.

Limits

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of any engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

The website itself is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Links to other sites

We link to Amazon so you can buy the book. We do not control other sites and are not responsible for their content or their terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and the courts of El Paso County, Texas have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before anyone starts a claim, both sides agree to raise the problem directly and try in good faith to resolve it — most disagreements end with a phone call.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version published here when you use the site is the version that applies. Engagements already agreed are not changed by an update to this page.
