Privacy

Stoic Consulting LLC, trading as Stoic Business Consulting Firm, runs this website from El Paso, Texas. This page says what happens to information you give us here, in plain English.

What we collect

Only what you type into the contact form. That is your name, your email address, your phone number and company if you choose to add them, the reason you selected, and your message. Name, email, reason and message are required because we cannot reply without them. Phone and company are optional and the form works without them.

We also record the two-letter country code that Cloudflare attaches to the request. It tells us a submission came from, say, US or CA, and it helps us spot obvious junk.

What we deliberately do not collect

• No cookies. This site sets none. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you were not shown a cookie banner. See our cookie page.
• No IP addresses. Cloudflare hands your IP to our contact form for free and we throw it away without storing it. Keeping it would mean holding the approximate home address of everyone who writes to us, for no benefit we could name.
• No tracking. No tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no session recording, no fingerprinting. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and builds no profile of you - see our cookie page.
• No mailing list. Writing to us does not subscribe you to anything. We do not sell, rent, or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Why we hold it, and for how long

To answer you, and to keep a record of what was discussed if you become a client. Nothing else.

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted after 24 months. If you become a client, your records are kept for as long as the engagement runs and for seven years afterwards, which is what tax and professional record-keeping require.

Who else can see it

Two companies, both because they run parts of this website:

• Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and stores contact form submissions in a database inside our own Cloudflare account.
• Resend delivers the notification email that tells us an enquiry has arrived.

Both are service providers acting on our instructions. Neither is permitted to use your information for their own purposes. Nobody else receives it.

We may disclose information if the law requires it. We will tell you if that happens, unless we are legally forbidden from doing so.

What you can ask us to do

Email [email protected] and we will, within 30 days:

• tell you exactly what we hold about you,
• send you a copy of it,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• or delete it entirely.

You do not need to give a reason and it costs nothing. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you these rights by statute; we extend the same to everyone regardless of where they live.

Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS. Submissions travel encrypted and are stored inside our Cloudflare account, not on a shared form service. We keep no copy anywhere else.

Children

This is a business-to-business site. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this page changes materially we will update the date below. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated page applies.
